Summary
Exact prompt
Read tasks/TASKS.md and implement all 5 functions in ./solution.py in the current directory. Python 3 stdlib only.
Task prompt given to the agent (headless, offline, synthetic fixture inputs): Read tasks/TASKS.md and implement all 5 functions in ./solution.py in the current directory. Python 3 stdlib only. Inspired by https://x.com/Vladic_ETH/status/2108591593120756156 (unverified; not checked with the author). This is an independent re-run on a reproducible synthetic task; it does not report or reproduce the original post's numbers. Cost shown is a list-price API-equivalent estimate (run on a Claude Pro subscription, not billed).
Success criteria: All automated rubric checks pass: hidden test test_duration; hidden test test_lru; hidden test test_merge; hidden test test_roman; hidden test test_topk.
Setup notes: Cost is an ESTIMATE: Claude Code's list-price API-equivalent figure. The run used a Claude Pro subscription, so nothing was billed. input_tokens = all input incl. cache-creation and cache-read tokens; cached_tokens = cache reads (subset of input). Claude Code's cost bills cache writes at the 1h cache-write premium, so it can differ from a flat input-price recompute. Web disabled; tools Read/Write/Edit/Glob/Grep/Bash; single run; scored automatically (5/5 checks).
Estimated cost List-price estimate; not actually billed.

Reproduce this run
- Use the use case prompt on the use case page.
- Same setup: Claude Haiku 5.5 (anthropic/claude-haiku-5.5, effort default (no --effort flag) · thinking on) via
Claude Code 2.1.299 (headless -p), cloud. - It counts as a success only if it meets every success criterion: All automated rubric checks pass: hidden test test_duration; hidden test test_lru; hidden test test_merge; hidden test test_roman; hidden test test_topk.
- Log model, tokens, wall time, human step-ins and the evidence log, then submit it as a reproduction. A different model? Submit a head-to-head rerun.

"result": "I created `solution.py` in the working directory with all five functions, and my quick tests pass. `tasks/TASKS.md` was there, but `solution.py` did not exist before, so I wrote it from scratch.\n\n- **`roman_to_int`**: scans left to right, subtracting a value when a smaller numeral precedes a larger one (IV, IX, XL, and so on).\n- **`merge_intervals`**: sorts by start and merges when the next start is less than or equal to the current end, so touching intervals merge. The input list is not mutated.\n- **`lru_cache_sim`**: uses an `OrderedDict`. Both `put` and a hit `get` move the key to most-recent, and inserts evict the least-recent key. A capacity of 0 stores nothing, so every `get` returns -1.\n- **`top_k_words`**: lowercases the text, takes `[a-z']+` runs, sorts by descending count then alphabetically, and returns the first k. A bare `'` counts as a word, since the spec defines words that way.\n- **`parse_duration`**: a single regex requires `h`, `m`, `s` components in that order, each at most once, with at least one present. Empty strings, `h`, `1x`, `1h1h`, `1m2h`, and `1 h` raise `ValueError`.\n\nThe tests covered the spec examples and the listed invalid inputs, plus a few edge cases such as capacity 0, touching intervals, and tie-breaking. I ran them with `python3 -I` and inserted the current directory onto `sys.path` by hand. I did not commit anything, since the directory is not a git repository.",
