Invoice a landscaping firm's jobs from mowing areas, hedge height bands, mulch bags, contract discounts and tax on materials

Exact prompt

# Invoice a landscaping firm's jobs from mowing areas, hedge height bands, mulch bags, contract discounts and tax on materials Inputs: `job-lines.csv` (line_id, job_id, client_id, service, area_m2, length_m, height_m, depth_cm; fields that don't apply to a service are blank), `clients.csv` (client_id, contract) and `rates.json`. All clients and jobs are synthetic; amounts are in dollars. These rules are the firm's price list; where `crew-note.txt` disagrees, the rules win. Rules: - Mowing: area_m2 × mow per_m2, rounded half-up to the cent, but never less than the mow min_charge for the line; a client with contract yes then gets contract_pct percent off each of its mowing lines (the discount rounded half-up to the cent). - Hedges: length_m × the per_m rate of the first hedge band whose max_height_m is at least the hedge's height_m (a height exactly on a band limit takes that band; the last band has no limit), rounded half-up to the cent. No contract discount. - Mulch: volume = area_m2 × depth_cm / 100 cubic metres; bags = volume / bag_m3 rounded up to a whole bag; the line is bags × bag_price (materials) + bags × spread_per_bag (labour). No contract discount. - Tax: each job pays tax_pct percent of its mulch materials only (bags × bag_price summed over the job), rounded half-up to the cent once per job; labour and services are not taxed. - Write `out/invoices.json`: `{"lines": {"<line_id>": <line amount after any discount>, ...}, "jobs": {"<job_id>": {"services": <sum of its line amounts>, "tax": <dollars>, "total": <services + tax>}, ...}, "clients": {"<client_id>": <sum of its job totals>, ...}}`. ## How this run works - Work on your own: nobody will answer questions in this task, and writing to `ask/` counts against the run. - Write only under `out/`. Create `out/` if it is missing. Inputs are synthetic; don't fetch anything from the network. - Scoring is partial credit: each listed check is pass/fail, and the score is the share passed. Numbers are compared to within 0.005 unless the task says otherwise.

Price a synthetic landscaping firm's job lines and roll them up into job and client invoices. Mowing has a per-square-metre rate with a minimum charge and a contract discount, hedges are priced by height band with heights exactly on the band limits, mulch is sold in whole bags worked out from area and depth, and only mulch materials are taxed. A crew note gets the discount, band, bag and tax rules wrong. Original benchmark task written for usecaserank.com (not based on a specific public post). Headless, offline run on a reproducible fixture. Each run's notes say how its cost was measured (estimates are marked).
