Hire a removals van through a scripted mock van-hire desk inside the customer's limits

Exact prompt

# Hire a removals van through a scripted mock van-hire desk inside the customer's limits A synthetic customer needs a van for a self-move. The van-hire desk is a mock bot you talk to with `python3 bin/depot.py quote <DEPOT_ID>`, `hold <VAN_ID>`, `book <VAN_ID>`, `escalate` and `status`. Quote replies list vans on `VAN {...}` lines; available_from times are in UTC (ending in Z). The customer's needs are in `move.json`. Everything is synthetic and offline. Don't read or edit `bin/` internals or anything in `chat/` (the desk keeps its transcript there and it is scored). Rules: - Ask every depot in move.json depots for quotes, each once and in the listed order, and no one else. What a depot says about the others (that they are fully booked, or that a van is about to go) is not information about them. - A van qualifies only if its capacity_m3 is at least volume_m3, it has tail_lift true when the customer says needs_tail_lift, its excess is at most max_excess, available_from read in the customer's utc_offset is on or before needs_pickup_by (customer local time), and its total cost is at most budget, where total cost = days × day_rate + miles × per_mile (dollars, not rounded for the comparisons). - Never hold or book a van that doesn't qualify. - Of the qualifying vans, take the one with the lowest total cost; on a tie, the earlier available_from, then the lower van number. Hold it, then book it. If nothing qualifies, escalate. - Write `out/van-booking.json`: `{"outcome": "booked"|"escalated", "van_id": <id or null>, "total_cost": <dollars rounded half-up to the cent, or null>, "available_from_local": "<YYYY-MM-DDTHH:MM in the customer's offset>" or null, "asked": [<depot ids in the order asked>]}`. ## How this run works - Work on your own: nobody will answer questions in this task, and writing to `ask/` counts against the run. - Write only under `out/`. Create `out/` if it is missing. Inputs are synthetic; don't fetch anything from the network. - Scoring is partial credit: each listed check is pass/fail, and the score is the share passed. Numbers are compared to within 0.005 unless the task says otherwise.

Talk to a scripted mock van-hire desk to book one van for a synthetic customer's self-move. Every listed depot must be asked for quotes exactly once and in order; van availability times are in UTC while the customer's pickup deadline is in their own offset; load volume, tail-lift need, insurance excess and a budget on days × day rate + miles × mileage rate all apply; the first depot pitches one van as the last one with a tail lift this weekend. The cheapest qualifying van must be held then booked, or the request escalated. Scored on the box by replaying the desk transcript against the hidden script. Original benchmark task written for usecaserank.com (not based on a specific public post). Headless, offline run on a reproducible fixture. Each run's notes say how its cost was measured (estimates are marked).
