Summary

Exact prompt

# Cost a florist's event flower orders with stem wastage, whole bunches per event date, trade discounts and delivery Inputs: `orders.csv` (order_id, client_id, event_date, arrangement, quantity), `recipes.json` (per arrangement: its price and the stems of each flower in one arrangement), `flowers.json` (per flower: bunch_size, bunch_price, waste_pct), `clients.csv` (client_id, name, tier) and `rates.json` (trade_pct, delivery_fee). All clients and orders are synthetic; amounts are in dollars. These rules are the studio's policy; where `studio-note.txt` disagrees, the rules win. Rules: - Stems: for each order and flower, stems = the recipe's stems × quantity, plus waste_pct of that for wastage, rounded up to a whole stem for that order on its own. - Bunches: flowers are bought per event date: for each event date and flower, bunches = the stems of all that date's orders ÷ bunch_size, rounded up to a whole bunch; the date's flower cost = the sum of bunches × bunch_price. - Pricing: order price = quantity × the arrangement's price; clients whose tier is 'trade' get trade_pct off the price (rounded half-up to the cent); a client pays delivery_fee once per event date, on their order with the lowest order_id that date, and 0 delivery on their other orders that date; order total = price − discount + delivery. - Write `out/costing.json`: `{"stems": {"<event_date>": {"<flower>": <stems>, ...}, ...}, "bunches": {"<event_date>": {"<flower>": <bunches>, ...}, ...}, "flower_cost": {"<event_date>": <dollars>, ...}, "orders": {"<order_id>": {"price": <dollars>, "discount": <dollars>, "delivery": <dollars>, "total": <dollars>}, ...}, "clients": {"<client_id>": <sum of the client's order totals>, ...}}`. `orders` has one entry per row of orders.csv. - Roll-ups: Flowers with no stems on an event date are left out of that date's stems and bunches. Event dates with no orders are left out. Clients in clients.csv with no orders are included at 0. ## How this run works - Work on your own: nobody will answer questions in this task, and writing to `ask/` counts against the run. - Write only under `out/`. Create `out/` if it is missing. Inputs are synthetic; don't fetch anything from the network. - Scoring is partial credit: each listed check is pass/fail, and the score is the share passed. Numbers are compared to within 0.005 unless the task says otherwise.

Cost a synthetic florist's event orders. Stems need a per-flower wastage allowance rounded up per order, flowers are bought in whole bunches per event date, trade clients get a percent off, and delivery is charged once per client per event date. The prompt says which roll-up entries are listed at 0 and which are left out. A studio note gets the wastage, delivery and roll-up rules wrong. Original benchmark task written for usecaserank.com (not based on a specific public post). Headless, offline run on a reproducible fixture. Each run's notes say how its cost was measured (estimates are marked).

Success criteria: stems bunches order_totals report_shape client_totals

Setup notes: Batch 39 case tk01-florist-event-flower-costing (offline, synthetic inputs, seed 2664919082). Autonomous case: no stand-in user and no step-ins expected; any file the solver wrote to ask/ is counted as a measured intervention (0) and blocks a pass. Prompt = TASK.md verbatim. Hidden key kept outside the solver's work dir. Scored with the case's scorer (python3 score.py WORKDIR KEYDIR, absolute paths); pass = every check true and no ask/ files. Tools: Read/Write/Edit/Glob/Grep/Bash, web disabled. Single run, no retries. 1-min load average at scoring 0.19 (8 cores). Time-zone results depend on the system time-zone database: tzdata 2026c-0+deb13u1 (Python zoneinfo). Claude Code's own reported cost for claude-opus-5.5: $0.133024. Score: 5/5. Cost is an ESTIMATE: measured tokens x pricing.json list price (Claude Pro subscription, nothing billed); input_tokens include cache reads and writes. Single run.

Estimated cost List-price estimate; not actually billed.

"result": "I've written `out/costing.json` following the studio's rules, not `studio-note.txt` where the two disagree. I spot-checked a couple of figures by hand, but there's no answer key to check the file against.\n\n**Flower cost by event date** (from whole bunches):\n\n| Event date | Flower cost |\n|---|---|\n| 2026-11-06 | $1,411.76 |\n| 2026-11-07 | $542.72 |\n| 2026-11-27 | $910.12 |\n\n**Client totals:**\n\n| Client | Total |\n|---|---|\n| FC-338 | $6,001.40 |\n| FC-329 | $2,980.40 |\n| FC-320 | $2,166.33 |\n| FC-311 | $593.00 |\n| FC-347 | $0.00 |\n| FC-356 | $0.00 |\n\nThe file also has stems and bunches per date and flower, and price, discount, delivery and total for each of the 9 orders.\n\nThe checks I did by hand:\n- **Trade discount:** FC-320 is the only trade client. On EO-401, 15% of $2,507.45 is $376.1175, which rounds to $376.12.\n- **Delivery:** FC-338 has two orders on 2026-11-06. The fee goes on EO-409, the lower order ID, and EO-410 gets no delivery.\n\nWhere the note disagreed, I used the rules:\n- Wastage is added to each order and rounded up there, not added once to the day's total.\n- Each client pays delivery once per event date, not on every order.\n- FC-347 and FC-356 have no orders, so they appear at $0.\n\nThe script that produces the file is at `/tmp/fs/c.py`, outside the work folder, so only `out/` was written to.",
