Summary

Exact prompt

# Roll up last quarter's store revenue Inputs: `stores.csv` (each store's region, currency and status), `fx.csv` (monthly USD rates), and the weekly till exports in `exports/` (one CSV per store per week). Report net revenue in USD for Q3 2026 (July to September) by region. - Net revenue = completed sales minus completed refunds. Voided transactions don't count. - Convert each transaction at the rate for the month it happened in. - Each transaction counts once, however many export files it appears in. - Only trading stores count toward regional revenue. - Round money to cents, half-up, only at the end. Write `out/revenue.json`: `{"by_region": {"<region>": <usd>, ...}, "total_usd": <usd>, "top_region": "<region>", "refunds_usd": <usd>, "duplicate_rows_dropped": <n>}`. `refunds_usd` is the total of completed refunds at trading stores, as a positive number. `duplicate_rows_dropped` counts rows skipped because their transaction was already counted (all stores). ## How this run works - Work on your own: nobody will answer questions in this task, and writing to `ask/` counts against the run. - Write only under `out/`. Create `out/` if it is missing. Inputs are synthetic; don't fetch anything from the network. - Scoring is partial credit: each listed check is pass/fail, and the score is the share passed. Numbers are compared to within 0.005 unless the task says otherwise.

Combine about 120 weekly till exports from 9-12 stores into net Q3 revenue by region. Column headers quietly change the unit (currency units, cents, thousands), each export re-sends the previous weekend, refunds and voids are mixed in, rates vary by month, and one store in the list is not trading. The key is computed exactly from the generated ground truth. Original benchmark task written for usecaserank.com (not based on a specific public post). Headless, offline run on a reproducible fixture. Each run's notes say how its cost was measured (estimates are marked). Folder-restore note: this run's output files under work/out/ were lost in a 1:22 AM ET restore on Oct 21, 2026. The trace, step-in exchanges and output-hash list were checked against the recorded SHA-256 values and match; the hashes of the individual output files inside that list can no longer be recomputed. Measured data unchanged.

Success criteria: region_totals grand_total top_region refunds dedupe fx_by_month

Setup notes: Batch 19 case u01-multi-store-revenue-rollup (offline, synthetic inputs, seed 611524925). Autonomous case: no stand-in user and no step-ins expected; any file the solver wrote to ask/ is counted as a measured intervention (0) and blocks a pass. Prompt = TASK.md verbatim. Hidden key kept outside the solver's work dir. Scored with the case's scorer (python3 score.py WORKDIR KEYDIR, absolute paths); pass = every check true and no ask/ files. Tools: Read/Write/Edit/Glob/Grep/Bash, web disabled. Single run, no retries. 1-min load average at scoring 0.43 (8 cores). Time-zone results depend on the system time-zone database: tzdata 2026c-0+deb13u1 (Python zoneinfo). Claude Code's own reported cost for claude-sonnet-5.5: $0.065939. Score: 6/6. Cost is an ESTIMATE: measured tokens x pricing.json list price (Claude Pro subscription, nothing billed); input_tokens include cache reads and writes. Single run.

Estimated cost List-price estimate; not actually billed.

Reproduce this run

  1. Use the use case prompt on the use case page.
  2. Same setup: Claude Sonnet 5.5 (anthropic/claude-sonnet-5.5, effort default (no --effort flag) · thinking on) via Claude Code 2.1.299 (headless -p), cloud.
  3. It counts as a success only if it meets every success criterion: region_totals grand_total top_region refunds dedupe fx_by_month
  4. Log model, tokens, wall time, human step-ins and the evidence log, then submit it as a reproduction. A different model? Submit a head-to-head rerun.

Net revenue for Q3 2026 (July to September) is $542,993.45 across all regions, and North is the top region.\n\n| Region | Net revenue (USD) |\n|---|---|\n| North | 221,205.12 |\n| West | 140,185.02 |\n| East | 129,325.18 |\n| South | 52,278.12 |\n\n- **Refunds:** completed refunds at trading stores total $89,856.20.\n- **Duplicates:** 462 rows were skipped because their transaction ID had already been counted. None of the duplicates differed from the first copy, so it didn't matter which one I kept.\n\nTwo judgment calls:\n- **Export formats:** the export files use three different amount columns. Most use `amount`. Some use `amount_cents`, which I divided by 100. Others use `amount_k`, which I read as thousands of currency units (so 0.73508 means 735.08). That reading fits the size of the other sales, but the data doesn't state it.\n- **Stores and dates:** one store, ST159, is `closed-test`, so I excluded it from regional revenue. Its rows still count toward `duplicate_rows_dropped`. I also left out transactions dated outside July to September.",
