Summary

Exact prompt

# Bill a window cleaner's round for March Inputs: `visits.csv` (each visit: customer, date, house type, extras separated by `;`, outcome), `customers.json` (each customer's payment method) and `prices.json` (house-type prices, extra prices and the monthly minimum). Every amount is in pounds. Billing rules: - A cleaned visit (outcome cleaned) costs the house-type price plus the price of each listed extra, less 2.00 if the customer pays by direct_debit. - A no-access visit (outcome no_access) is charged a call-out of 50% of the house-type price (rounded to the cent half-up), with no extras and no direct debit discount. - If a customer's visits for the month add up to less than the monthly_minimum, add a top-up so the month comes to the minimum; the minimum applies per customer per month, not per visit. Write `out/round.json`: `
<visit_id>": <price>, ...
<customer>": <top-up, 0 if none>, ...
<customer>": <visits + top-up>, ...
<sum of due>}` with every visit and every customer in `visits.csv`. ## How this run works - Work on your own: nobody will answer questions in this task, and writing to `ask/` counts against the run. - Write only under `out/`. Create `out/` if it is missing. Inputs are synthetic; don't fetch anything from the network. - Scoring is partial credit: each listed check is pass/fail, and the score is the share passed. Numbers are compared to within 0.005 unless the task says otherwise.

Bill a month of window cleaning visits. Cleaned visits cost the house-type price plus any extras, less a direct debit discount, while no-access visits cost half the house price with no extras or discount, and each customer pays at least a monthly minimum. Charging extras on no-access visits, discounting them or applying the minimum per visit each change the bills. Original benchmark task written for usecaserank.com (not based on a specific public post). Headless, offline run on a reproducible fixture. Each run's notes say how its cost was measured (estimates are marked).

Success criteria: visit_prices monthly_minimum totals

Setup notes: Batch 25 case a05-window-cleaning-round (offline, synthetic inputs, seed 1500916283). Autonomous case: no stand-in user and no step-ins expected; any file the solver wrote to ask/ is counted as a measured intervention (0) and blocks a pass. Prompt = TASK.md verbatim. Hidden key kept outside the solver's work dir. Scored with the case's scorer (python3 score.py WORKDIR KEYDIR, absolute paths); pass = every check true and no ask/ files. Tools: Read/Write/Edit/Glob/Grep/Bash, web disabled. Single run, no retries. 1-min load average at scoring 0.26 (8 cores). Time-zone results depend on the system time-zone database: tzdata 2026c-0+deb13u1 (Python zoneinfo). Claude Code's own reported cost for claude-opus-5.5: $0.105966. Score: 3/3. Cost is an ESTIMATE: measured tokens x pricing.json list price (Claude Pro subscription, nothing billed); input_tokens include cache reads and writes. Single run.

Estimated cost List-price estimate; not actually billed.
I've written `out/round.json`. It covers all 14 visits and all 6 customers, and the March total comes to **£287.39**. I spot-checked several prices by hand against the rules.

| Customer | Visits | Top-up | Due |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rose Cottage | £70.76 | £0.00 | £70.76 |
| 7 Orchard Close | £79.42 | £0.00 | £79.42 |
| 48 Station Rd | £56.76 | £0.00 | £56.76 |
| 12 Elm Road | £46.45 | £0.00 | £46.45 |
| 22 Park Ave | £8.14 | £8.86 | £17.00 |
| The Old Forge | £15.38 | £1.62 | £17.00 |

- **Top-ups:** two customers came in under the £17.00 monthly minimum and were topped up to it. 22 Park Ave had two no-access visits at £4.07 each. The Old Forge had one cleaned semi with the direct debit discount, at £15.38.
- **No-access visits:** the call-out is 50% of the house price, so £4.07 for a flat and £8.69 for a semi. Both halve exactly, so the half-up rounding never came into play.
- **Extras on a no-access visit:** VS-317 lists a conservatory but was no-access. Following the rules, I charged only the £4.07 call-out and ignored the extra.

All visits are dated March 2027 and every customer, house type and extra matched the price lists.
