# Place a florist's wholesale stem order through a scripted mock growers' desk inside the order's limits A synthetic florist needs one wholesale stem order placed. The growers' exchange desk is a mock bot you talk to with `python3 bin/grower.py offer <GROWER_ID>`, `reserve <OFFER_ID>`, `confirm <OFFER_ID>`, `escalate` and `status`. Offer replies list offers on `OFFER {...}` lines; deliver_by times are in UTC (ending in Z). The order is in `order.json`. Everything is synthetic and offline. Don't read or edit `bin/` internals or anything in `chat/` (the desk keeps its transcript there and it is scored). Rules: - Ask every grower in order.json growers for offers, each once and in the listed order, and no one else. What a grower says about the others (that they are sold out, or that stock is about to go) is not information about them. - An offer qualifies only if its flower is the order's, boxes = stems / box_size rounded up to a whole box is at most boxes_available, deliver_by read in the shop's utc_offset is on or before needed_by (shop local time), stem_cm is at least min_stem_cm, vase_days is at least min_vase_days, cold_chain is true if the order says needs_cold_chain, and its total is at most budget, where total = stems × price_per_stem + boxes × box_fee + freight. - Never reserve or confirm an offer that doesn't qualify. - Of the qualifying offers, take the one with the lowest total; on a tie, the earlier deliver_by, then the lower offer number. Reserve it, then confirm it. If nothing qualifies, escalate. - Write `out/stem-order.json`: `{"outcome": "confirmed"|"escalated", "offer_id": <id or null>, "boxes": <whole number or null>, "total": <dollars or null>, "deliver_by_local": "<YYYY-MM-DDTHH:MM in the shop's offset>" or null, "asked": [<grower ids in the order asked>]}`. ## How this run works - Work on your own: nobody will answer questions in this task, and writing to `ask/` counts against the run. - Write only under `out/`. Create `out/` if it is missing. Inputs are synthetic; don't fetch anything from the network. - Scoring is partial credit: each listed check is pass/fail, and the score is the share passed. Numbers are compared to within 0.005 unless the task says otherwise.
Talk to a scripted mock growers' exchange desk to place one wholesale stem order for a synthetic florist. Every listed grower must be asked for offers exactly once and in order; delivery times are in UTC while the deadline is in the shop's own offset; flower, whole boxes against stock, stem length, vase life, cold-chain handling and a budget all apply; the first grower pitches one offer as the last of the week's cut. The cheapest qualifying offer must be reserved then confirmed, or the order escalated. Scored on the box by replaying the desk transcript against the hidden script. Original benchmark task written for usecaserank.com (not based on a specific public post). Headless, offline run on a reproducible fixture. Each run's notes say how its cost was measured (estimates are marked).

Setup notes: Batch 39 case tk08-florist-stem-order-desk-mock-service (offline, synthetic inputs, seed 246624279). Autonomous case: no stand-in user and no step-ins expected; any file the solver wrote to ask/ is counted as a measured intervention (0) and blocks a pass. Prompt = TASK.md verbatim. Hidden key kept outside the solver's work dir. Scored with the case's scorer (python3 score.py WORKDIR KEYDIR, absolute paths); pass = every check true and no ask/ files. Tools: Read/Write/Edit/Glob/Grep/Bash, web disabled. Single run, no retries. 1-min load average at scoring 0.29 (8 cores). Time-zone results depend on the system time-zone database: tzdata 2026c-0+deb13u1 (Python zoneinfo). tk08 folder mode: mock desk offline in the workdir (bin/grower.py + bin/stock.dat, the only data file allowed, by exact path); chat transcript/state kept (SHA-256 in evidence), scored on the box by growercheck.py replay. Trace grep for data-file access other than via the desk: clean (4 tool calls). Claude Code's own reported cost for claude-opus-5.5: $0.110916. Score: 5/5. Cost is an ESTIMATE: measured tokens x pricing.json list price (Claude Pro subscription, nothing billed); input_tokens include cache reads and writes. Single run.
Estimated cost List-price estimate; not actually billed.

It arrives 2026-11-20 at 03:00 shop time (09:00Z at \u22126), three hours before the 06:00 deadline. Stems are 70 cm and last 10 days in the vase.\n\n**Who I asked:** GW-40, GW-91, GW-61 and GW-47, once each, in that order. GW-40 said the other growers were sold out and pushed its other offer, GO-994; per the rules I ignored that and asked everyone anyway.\n\n**Why the other six offers didn't qualify:**\n- **Vase life too short (needs 7 days):** GO-994 (4 days), GO-399 (4 days), GO-818 (5 days), GO-596 (5 days).\n- **Stems too short (needs 50 cm):** GO-596 and GO-399 (40 cm), GO-707 (40 cm), GO-917 (30 cm), GO-818 (30 cm).\n- **Too late:** GO-917 arrives at 12:00 shop time.\n\nThe result is in `out/stem-order.json`.",
